Set Up Steering Wheel Control Functions and CANbus Module | For ISUDAR Car Radio

By Kimi August 3rd, 2024 6810 views

When installing a car radio, it’s often necessary to connect a CANbus module to read the original car’s information and transmit it to the car radio for proper functioning. The CANbus is a crucial decoder that interprets the car’s information for the car radio. Most of our T72 series, T68, T19 series, and other models come equipped with CAN wires and a CANbus module.

It's essential to connect both the CAN wires and the CANbus module to the car radio. If these connections are not made, the car’s information might not be read correctly, and in some cases, the car radio may not power on due to the CANbus’s power supply function.

If you’ve connected the CANbus and CAN wires but the steering wheel control buttons still aren’t working, you need to check if the CANbus module type is correctly set. Here are the steps to verify the CANbus type selection:

  1. Check the CANbus Module: Look at the CANbus box to find the CANbus type, such as Raize, SS, etc. Match this type in the settings menu.
  2. Ensure Network Connection: Make sure the car radio is connected to a network, as it needs to be activated online.
  3. Select Based on Car Model: Choose the appropriate type based on your car model. For instance, for a Fiat Alfa Mito, you can also try selecting Fiat Bravo/500X models.
  4. Activate: Once selected, click “Public” to activate the settings.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your steering wheel control functions and CANbus module are correctly set up for optimal performance.
